As global orders for eco-friendly ships increase due to the strengthening of environmental regulations by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), KCC Paint has officially been recognized for its excellent environmental performance through continuous research and development, achieving eco-label certification. This certification demonstrates both a reduction in volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions during the painting process and a decrease in harmful substances in the products themselves. In collaboration with HD Hyundai (HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, and HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering), KCC is introducing eco-friendly paints to the market.
As the coatings for ships and marine plants, it aims at protecting structures in extreme environments.
Ships must secure stability with an excellent anti-corrosive performance compared to the ground structures and be easy to maintain.
During the operation, ships are exposed to droplets and strong UV rays, so anti-corrosive and antifouling coating systems are required.
